The proposed schedule for EUREKA is set out as below:
Prospective Eureka students to enrol and complete the online Introductory research methods course or provide proof of equivalent training via an online form
Faculties to nominate teachers to be Eureka mentors. The team to consolidate the name lists.
The team to invite mentors to submit an undergraduate research opportunity via an online form and advertise these opportunities on the online platform for student selection.
Mentors to set up their disciplinary Eureka research courses for potentially matched students to enrol in the Second Semester.
They should also apply for ethical and other necessary clearances for their research projects, if required.
The team to organize separate induction talks for both mentors and students to introduce the programme.
Students to register interested project(s) on the online platform, explore opportunities and meet up with their potential mentors to discuss research projects.
By the end of December, the team will contact mentors and
students to confirm the match.
Students who have successfully matched with a mentor and intended to proceed to enrol in the corresponding disciplinary Eureka research course on the Student Information System (SIS).
Students to work on their projects with mentors.
Students to submit their one-page research poster and other required assignments to their mentors via Moodle and submit the “Reporting and Reimbursement form” to the team.
Mentors to submit grades to the Faculty, disseminate feedback to students and nominate students with exceptional performance to participate in the HKU Teaching and Learning Festival in the coming academic year via an online form.
