A study on active compounds from Chinese medicine for the treatment of kidney diseases

Abstract:

1. Background

Chinese Medicine (CM) has a long-standing history of use in the treatment of kidney diseases. Extensive clinical and basic research has been conducted to explore its therapeutic potential. This project aims to identify active compounds derived from CM and evaluate their effectiveness in treating kidney diseases such as acute kidney injury and diabetic nephropathy, through comprehensive literature review and laboratory experiments.

2: Research Questions

• What are the active compounds in CM that contribute to the treatment of kidney diseases?
• What are the molecular mechanisms underlying their therapeutic effects?

Skills and experience required for the project:

Students are preferably to have backgrounds in biomedical or biological disciplines.
