Abstract:

How should we design assessment in the age of GenAI? This research explores through qualitative interview-based methods undergraduate students’ perceptions of the kinds of assessment tasks and assessment designs that cater for the realities of unlimited availability of GenAI tools. The research question is: How and why do students interpret and respond to assessment design and implementation in the context of GenAI? The overall goal is to improve the design and implementation of assessment in HKU by better understanding students’ needs and views.
