Implementing AI-driven robots to interact with residents in senior care facilities

Abstract:

This project explores the deployment of AI-powered robots to facilitate meaningful engagement with residents in elderly care homes. It assesses how robotic interactions can promote social connection, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being among seniors. The study aims to inform the development of innovative, technology-based solutions tailored to the needs of aging populations. Through hands-on deployment, data collection, and user feedback, the research seeks to evaluate the effectiveness and acceptability of AI robots in enhancing quality of life for senior residents

Skills and experience required for the project:

interviewing skills and/or client testing experience, linguistic/ video data processing skills/experience, native speaker of Cantonese, background in speech-language pathology is preferred
