ABSTRACT

***Background and Purpose***
Radio-controlled (RC) aircraft provide a practical platform for studying aerodynamic performance at small scales, where lift, drag, stability, and efficiency strongly depend on wing geometry, flow conditions, and Reynolds number. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) allows these effects to be investigated through numerical simulations without extensive physical testing. This project aims to model and analyze the aerodynamic performance of an RC aircraft using CFD to evaluate airflow patterns, pressure distribution, lift, drag, and stall behavior. The computer-modelling results would be verified by true-scale RC aircraft test flight.

***Research Questions***
1. How do wing and aircraft geometry influence aerodynamic performance?
2. How do speed and angle of attack affect lift-to-drag ratio?
3. How accurately can CFD predict RC aircraft performance?
