Implementing AI-driven robots to interact with residents in local elderly homes

ABSTRACT

This project explores the deployment of AI-powered robots to facilitate meaningful engagement with residents in elderly care homes. It assesses how robotic interactions can promote social connection, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being among seniors. The study aims to inform the development of innovative, technology-based solutions tailored to the needs of aging populations. Through hands-on deployment, data collection, and user feedback, the research seeks to evaluate the effectiveness and acceptability of AI robots in enhancing quality of life for senior residents.

• interviewing skills and/or client testing experience
• linguistic/ video data processing skills/experience
• native speaker of Cantonese
• background in speech-language pathology is preferred
